Dual-Axial Tool Servo Diamond Turning of Hierarchical Micro-Nano-Structured Surfaces

This paper reports on a dual-axial tool servo diamond turning method for the one-step fabrication of hierarchical micro-nano-structured surfaces. With respect to motion (XZ), z-axis can generate primary surface with complex shape, and x-axis is used synchronously form secondary structure via controlling residual marks. The toolpath determination algorithm developed described in detail, effect machining parameters basic feature sizes generated structures investigated through conducting numerical simulation both generation. result indicates that additional x-axial effective deterministic generation variety structures. Finally, taking advantage an ultra-precision lathe self-developed tri-axial FTS, high accuracy practically generated.
